They share the same last name, but they’re not related. Fernanda and Silvana Lima have met years ago in Prainha (a surfers point in Rio de Janeiro), at a ceremony hosted by Fluir magazine; but it was in Sao Paulo that their paths really crossed. Fernanda hosted the event, and Silvana received the award.

The girl from Paracuru, a city in the state of Ceara, who had twice come in second place on the world championship, was in a delicate moment of her life. After knee surgery, she lost one sponsorship and the chance to compete for a spot on the WCT, the world’s most important surf competition.

Some friends, impressed with how strong Silvana was, her perseverance, but mainly the talent of the athlete, launched the campaign called “SilvanaFree”, a crowdfunding website and platform to gather funds for the surfer to remain active, competing on the main championships around the world.

Touched by Silvana’s story, Fernanda helped by advertising the campaign through her social network profiles, what has given more visibility to the talent of the surfer.
